Aw, Becky, Becky, Becky. You’re making it hard to consider you the protagonist. :(

This comic is a long day’s journey into night.

I kind of like a flawed protagonist. and I understand her mistrust after all she lost her naive innocence at the north pole, and she tries to protect Nate now that the tables has turned and she is the one of them who smells rat. We don’t like to see Bogmoggy get beat up because we can relate to her, but in defense of Becky the rat is real, Bogmoggy had to sell out one of her friends to Auntie in 295.

Thanks! I really wanted this to make sense… Becky might be going about this the wrong way, but she does have some good reason to suspect Bogmoggy. Not to mention that she’s actually kind of right, since Bogmoggy had to make that deal…

Yes, it makes sense, it is a potent little twist on the plot line. It builds up some suspense.

Also I wonder how hard they are hitting compared to the Broodmaster. I think her upbringing has made her tough skinned but submissive towards the beating. If little Bogmoggy was not the sweetest little child eater she would probarbly have had a good chance by fighting back.

They’re not hitting her that hard. Red and Mugsy are just playground bullies, so they mostly just shove people into lockers or knock books out of nerds’ hands as they walk to class; despite their bluster, they don’t have a lot of experience with actually beating people up. Moggy could probably take them if she tried, but she’s got that learned helplessness from living with the broodmaster.

Oh, sure enough, it’s absolutely easy to see Becky’s motivations in this, it’s just unfortunate she’s going about it the firebrat way, headstrong and impetuous, rather than thoughtful. In a way, they’re both only reinforcing their stances of prejudice. Bogmoggy really did make a deal to get Becky eaten, but she didn’t feel so good about it. Now, though, after this, I doubt she’s going to hesitate.

What’s likely gonna happen is that they’re both going to anger and disappoint Nate to an extreme degree, so everybody’s gonna lose before they can win.

There’s definitely a lot of that brewing. See the wages of prejudice? Why, I do believe that we, as a society, could learn from this parable!

…Not to pat myself on the back too much, but I am literally like Martin Luther King Jr, Gandhi and Jesus Christ combined except more noble. XD

  9. Mr. Casual

Ah yes, the noble Jestin Gandher Chring Jr.

I told you man, begbie styles

  12. admin

I suppose you could interpret it like that!

  13. Benny

Nah Begbie would not have missed a good fight by having others do the beating for him.
